Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Saptapadi collects and uses your personal data, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Data we collect

• Profile details you enter: name, gender, date of birth, religion, caste, mother tongue, education, occupation, income, location, photo and partner preferences.
• Contact details: email address and mobile number.
• Payment records: amount, UPI transaction ID or payment gateway reference. We never store card or bank details; online payments are processed by Razorpay.
• Technical data: IP address and browser information in server logs, and a session cookie to keep you logged in.

How we use it

• To show your profile to other members looking for a match. Your name is shortened, and your phone, email and photo are shown only to Premium members.
• To verify payments, prevent fraud and moderate profiles.
• To send service emails such as password resets. We do not send marketing without consent.

We do not sell your personal data.

Your rights

You can view and correct your data from your dashboard and permanently delete your account from Account settings at any time. On deletion, your profile, photo, interests and shortlists are erased immediately; payment records may be retained as required by tax law. Backups are overwritten within 7 days.

Security

Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, all traffic is encrypted with HTTPS, and photo metadata (including GPS location) is removed when you upload.
